1.
Install Rx Medi-TrendSM on all PC's you wish to use and access Rx
Medi-TrendSM data.
Factors to consider when installing Rx Medi-TrendSM:
1. The single downloadable installation file contains all of the necessary files to install the Palm Software, and both Access 97/2000 versions of Rx
Medi-TrendSM. The end-user should see the following prompt after starting the installation program.

It is imperative that the proper files/features are selected for installation. There are three basic features:
1. Palm OS®
Software
- Only select one (1) version. The Access version selected should match the version of Rx
Medi-TrendSM.
2. Rx
Medi-TrendSM for Access 2000
- The Client Application should always be installed (select 2000) unless you wish to install only the back-end database on a network server.
- However, the back-end database should not be installed more than once on a stand-alone PC.(e.g., if you are a current user of Rx
Medi-TrendSM DO NOT install this feature. Doing so will DELETE ALL OF YOUR DATA.)
3. Rx
Medi-TrendSM for Access 97
- The Client Application should always be installed (select 97) unless you wish to install only the back-end database on a network server.
- However, the back-end database should not be installed more than once on a stand-alone PC (e.g., if you are a current user of Rx
Medi-TrendSM DO NOT install this feature. Doing so will DELETE ALL OF YOUR DATA.)
To select/deselect a feature, left-click on the item and the following option box will appear. To deselect a feature, select "This feature will not be available."
Note: When the installation program starts, EVERY FEATURE IS SLATED TO BE INSTALLED. YOU MUST
DESELECT NON-NECESSARY FEATURES.

The screen shot below is an example setup for a user running MS Access 97, who is a current user of Rx
Medi-TrendSM wishing to upgrade and install the Palm OS® feature.

Networking Procedures
1. Move the data file to the network directory. If you have already been using a prior version, move the data file from the PC that you have been using. Do NOT use the COPY/PASTE function. The only file that should be moved is as follows:
Rx Medi-TrendSM
for Access 2000 = Hospital Data.mdb
Rx Medi-TrendSM
for Access 97 = Hospital Data v97.mdb
If you are a new user, you may select and move the data file from any of the computers from which the back-end database was installed.
2. Open Rx Medi-TrendSM
and select "File" from the menu and then select "Network". You will be prompted for a password; enter "networkrx".
3. After entering the password, you will receive the following prompt. Note: The box shown is from Rx
Medi-TrendSM
for Access 97.

4. Click "OK"
5. The following box will appear, with the message "Specify path to file ... Hospital Data (v97).mdb. The data file is either "Hospital Data.mdb" for Access 2000 or "Hospital Data v97.mdb" for Access 97.

6. Within the input box type the path to the data file. The file extension .mdb is REQUIRED!
7. Click "OK"
8. You will be prompted to wait while the system configures itself. When the process has completed, you will receive a message stating the system was configured properly.
